Abstract
AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a new unidentified source, AGL J0906-1241 with Galactic coordinates (l, b) = (241.5, 22.4) 0.8 deg (95% stat. c.l.) 0.1 deg (syst.), (R.A. 136.5, Dec -12.7). Integrating from 2010-04-11 05 00 UT to 2010-04-13 06 00 UT, a maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level larger than 5 sigma, and a flux F = (3.8+/-1.2) 10-6 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV).
