Il programma COSMO-SkyMed: descrizione della missione e del sistema e primi risultati

In this paper an overview of the COSMO-SkyMed program is provided. COSMO-SkyMed is a project in cooperation between the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the Italian Defence Ministry (MD) and it is the first satellite constellation devoted to the Earth’s observation for both civil and military purposes. Here the main characteristics of the satellite and of the X-band radar are given and the first interesting images collected during the commissioning phase are described.
