Abstract
We investigate the jet formation region of relativistic jets using stationary, axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). In particular, we numerically calculate the field structure of the collimating jet as well as the flow acceleration. Special or general relativistic effects are taken into account. The advantage of the stationary approach is the possibility to treat the jet physics on a global scale. Our results are applicable to highly relativistic jets as observed in blazars and microquasars.
