Abstract
AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from an unidentified source, AGLJ1948-7906, found at Galactic coordinates (l,b)=(315.07, -29.29) deg (R.A., Dec.= 297.12 -79.09 deg, J2000), with a statistical 95% c.l. elliptical error region with major and minor axes of 0.70 deg and 0.45 deg, respectively.
