AGILE detection of increasing gamma-ray emission from a region including 2FGL J1823.8+4312

AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a source at Galactic coordinates (l,b)=(70.77, 22.82) +/- 0.8 deg (95% stat.) +/- 0.1 deg (syst.) (R.A., Dec.= 276.02, 42.85 deg, J2000). Integrating from 2012-06-03 04 00 UT to 2012-06-05 04 00 UT, a maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level of 5 sigma and a flux of (260+/-90) x 10E-8 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV).
