AGILE confirmation of the increasing gamma-ray activity from PKS 2233-148

AGILE confirms the increasing gamma-ray activity from the BL Lac object PKS 2233-148 (also known as BZB J2236-1433 (Massaro et al., 2011, A&A 495)) as reported by Fermi-LAT in Atel #4152. Integrating from 2012-06-03 10 00 UT to 2012-06-05 22 00 UT, a maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level above 5 sigma and a flux of (240 +/- 70) x 10E-8 ph/cm2/s (E > 100 MeV) at Galactic coordinates (l,b)=(48.47, -56.95) +/- 0.9 deg (95% stat.) +/- 0.1 deg (syst.) (R.A., Dec.= 339.97, -14.61 deg, J2000).
