COSMO-SkyMed Mission: A set of X-band SAR Applications conducted during 2008

In 2007 and 2008 Agenzia Spaziale Italiana and Ministero della Difesa launched three out of four X-band SAR satellites of the COSMO-SkyMed (COnstellation of small Satellites for Mediterranean basin Observation) Dual-Use (Civilian and Defence) Mission dedicated to the Earth Observation. The results coming from the utilisation of the two operative satellites of the constellation reveal the significant achievement of the X-band SAR and the importance of fast response time in a wide variety of applications. In this paper ASI and e-GEOS presented qualitative analyses and results related to a set of X-band SAR applications conducted during 2008.
