Abstract
This paper deals with the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) / Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) impacts on the Electrical Power System (EPS) of the COSMO - SkyMed remote sensing satellite caused by the operation of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). In particular it will be discussed the conducted EMI aspects and the proper methodologies used to control them in the Satellite Bus distribution due to the SAR Antenna high power demand. Particular emphasis was given to such aspects as: Ripple over imposed on the Main Bus (MB). Control of the transient generated by the Antenna loads variation. Auto - compatibility of a single distribution line. The paper presents also the EPS performances as a result of the analyses and test performed, highlighting a cross correlation between them.
