COSMO-SkyMed: The Italian contribution to the French-Italian Inter-Governmental Agreement on Earth observation

COSMO-SkyMed is the Italian contribution to the Franco-Italian Inter-Governmental Agreement on Dual-Use Earth Observation. It was designed with an expandable system architecture, which is interoperable with other observation systems. This enlarges its potential field of applications for both Civilian and Defense users wishing to request, acquire, process, and correlate images coming from different observation sources. COSMO-SkyMed images are used, inter alia, to support decision-making, crisis prevention and management, global environmental monitoring, and civilian security. © 05 2006 Alcatel. All rights reserved.
